A car driving at night between glowing lane markers

An interface that’s designed for the way you drive

Ghost OS

A visually stunning interface for the world’s first autonomous driving platform. The first version of Ghost’s in-car interface, one of the first fully autonomous highway driving systems.

Working closely with Ghost’s product team, I led a team of designers and artists to create a new in-car interface that was both highly functional and a pleasure to use. With the product still in its infancy, the work laid the foundation for future releases.

The Ghost OS interface on a car's center touchscreen

Leveraging my team’s visualizations, we crafted a user interface that not only demonstrated self-driving functionality in real-time but also offered personalized experiences. The interface got to know users over time, greeting them personally and displaying the time of day, all while providing clear instructions and feedback on the vehicle’s actions.

Ready state: Switch lanes to activate
Active state: Available for 8 miles

Based on the time of day, the UI will automatically change including realistic, environmental lighting that allows the screen to feel integrated in the real world.

In 5 miles: Manual Driving Required
In 200 ft: Take Control, as self-driving ends
